Haiti - U-17 World Cup Qatar 2026 Qualifier : Haiti defeats Antigua and Barbuda [4-0] 08/02/2026 08:25:06
On Saturday, February 7, 2026, as part of the qualifying phase for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2026, at the Cementos Prograso Stadium in Guatemala City, our U-17 Grenadiers, in Group C, faced the "Benna Boys" the national team of Antigua and Barbuda, who conceded a victory to the Grenadiers [4-0]. Summary : A match marked by rushed play and poor cohesion, numerous turnovers, and missed scoring opportunities. Julien opened the scoring for Haiti in the 10th minute [1-0] with a right-footed shot from the center of the box into the top left corner, assisted by Jhon-Widy Belton. In the 16th minute, Antigua and Barbuda defender Cody Richardson scored an own goal, doubling the score for our Grenadiers [2-0]. The score remained unchanged at halftime despite a few missed chances. In the second half, the "Benna Boys" offered better resistance to the Grenadiers' attacks. Scoring opportunities were scarce, and it wasn't until the 76th minute that Macenat Prophète extended Haiti's lead with a right-footed shot from the center of the box into the bottom left corner, following a cross from Sonson Jean-Baptiste. Danrick Dalce sealed the victory in the 90th minute with a right-footed shot from the center of the box into the bottom right corner, after a corner kick from Emerson Laïssé [4-0]. It was therefore the single goal conceded by Haiti that made the difference. The next match against Guatemala will decide whether our Grenadiers or the "Matao" of Guatemala will qualify.
